Autumn. It’s the season of warm days and cooler nights, amber and gold. This time of year is the perfect time to explore your surroundings and head out on an autumnal adventure. Picnic in Whiteman Park
Located just 35 minutes from home, Whiteman Park is a great place to head for a picnic with friends or family. With a wide range of recreational facilities from playgrounds and barbecues to tennis and basketball courts. Your kids will love getting out in the fresh bush air and annoying an afternoon of sunshine.
Winter Markets
Supporting local producers, enjoying delicious food trucks and buying artisan, handmade goods, local community markets are the perfect way to know your community. Less than 15 minutes down the road, the Scarborough markets are the place to go for all things food, arts and retail. With their markets running every Thursday evening until 27 April 2023 and their Winter season kicking off in early May, we recommend adding them to your Autumn to-do list.
Fruit Picking
There is nothing better than biting into or cooking with freshly picked fruit and lucky for us, there are plenty of places an easy car ride from home to do just that. If you’re feeling like heading out on a day trip, The Orchards is an autumn paradise. 45 minutes from home, this time of year sees the trees turn into a sea of orange and red leaves. Open for fruit pickings, tractor rides, animal feeding and much more. With plenty of different fruits grown within the orchard, there’s usually something to pick no matter when you visit.
